Here’s a great site (I think it’s Chinese) where you can upload your pics to make them look old. Here’s Blinn and I via 1942.

Raise your hand if you need a nap.
Raise your hand if you would like a pillow for that nap.
Raise your hand if you would like a cool pillow ring to assist you with your nap whenever the feeling hits you like a ton of bricks. Mmmm… I see that hand, yes, you over there. And you. And you….

There’s no limit to what you can do with a can of gold spray paint. Although keep in mind, recklessly spray-painting things in your house is never good. (Although I wonder what those collections of Precious Moments figurines sitting in your curio cabinets would look like ALL GOLD. Hmmmm…) But back to what I was saying, no getting out the paint can at 1am. (Or trimming your own bangs at 1am). Just stating the obvious so I don’t get blamed for any of your decorating disasters. So with the metallic trend is still going strong, here are a few of my favorite looks.
I love the gold splash of the ceiling light fixtures in contrast to the light dove grey paint on the walls in the picture on the left. I think you could make a DIY version of those light fixtures fairly easily. And I also love the Chesterfield sofa in the matching grey color. Classic.
(I don’t really like the room on the right at all, besides the grey paint. The fixtures look kind of Home Depot-ish to me. If it were possible to import that half of the picture into Microsoft Paint, I would put a big red X over it. You can do that visually if you wish.)

I love this simple gold chandelier decal on the white with the curtains. Very clean and classy! And decals are great for us apartment owners. Fun, dramatic and unstickable!

And this!!!! How much fun would it be to paint your whole lofty, beautiful ceiling gold!!!!! Ahhh!!! Note to self: find an amazing apartment with soaring embossed ceilings in free time.

Here’s something a little more doable. I think groupings of pictures in gold frames (or even wood) is a lot more interesting than the overdone black frame thing. I’m kind of over it. Don’t buy them at Target. Don’t get all your frames out and paint them black. Go for the gold!

And of course, the solid gold baby. Who can resist? Definitely not my daughter, Abilene. Pristine, angelic, American Girl Bitty baby or trashy $2 generic baby doll sprayed-painted gold? SOLID GOLD, BABY!!!
